Almost every single article about reducing your weight and getting healthy explains readers to avoid drive through windows like the plague and to do all of their own cooking. There’s some value to that. From time to time, though, the last thing you choose is to have to prepare an evening meal from scratch. Sometimes you just wish to hit the drive through on the way home and call it a day. There is simply no reason you shouldn’t be able to do that once in a while and be free of the guilt usually associated with “diet slips”. You are able to do this because lots of the popular joints are now promoting “healthy” menu alternatives to keep their businesses up. Here’s how it is possible to eat healthfully when you’re at a fast food place.

Choose a drive through according to whether or not it has more healthy options available. For example, Arby’s doesn’t serve hamburgers. Instead, the selections consist of roast beef and chicken sandwiches, wraps and big salads. Wendy’s, not surprisingly, is known for its square burgers, even so the menu there has lots of healthful choices like salad, potatoes and chili. Not all fast food spots are as unhealthy as McDonalds with its deep fried everything.

Logic states that that one of the best ways to stay healthy and balanced is to avoid the drive through and never eat fast food. While, in most cases, this is a good plan, if you make smart choices, there is no reason to feel guilty for visiting a drive through one or two times a month. Once in a while, allowing someone else cook dinner is just what you require. When you select wholesome menu items, you do not have to feel bad about visiting the drive through.

The ingredients needed to make Sweet Hawaiian Bread Machine Bread:
  1. Take 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  2. Get 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  3. Get 1/2 stick unsalted butter, melted
  4. Prepare 1/2 tsp fine salt
  5. You need 6 tbsp granulated sugar
  6. Use 2 eggs, beaten
  7. Get 4 1/2 cup bread flour
  8. Use 2 1/2 tsp bread machine yeast ( can use packet of rapid rise, active dry and fast acting. Just go by directions on packet.)
Steps to make Sweet Hawaiian Bread Machine Bread:
  1. In saucepan, heat pineapple juice, milk and butter. Heat to warm, but not hot.
  2. If using packet yeast, add to liquid mixture and let foam for 10 minutes before adding to dry ingredients.
  3. In bread machine pan, add salt, sugar, eggs, flour and yeast on top. Slowly add liquid.
  4. Set machine to sweet bread setting and choose light, medium or dark crust setting. I like setting mine to light setting, but its personal preference.
  5. When bread is finished baking, remove from pan to cool. I put mine on top of bowl to let air flow under it instead of on plate. Cools faster and keeps it from getting soggy on the bottom.
  6. If making rolls, after first rise, punch down and pinch off what size rolls you desire. Golf ball size does well for me in a lightly greased 9x13 pan.
  7. Let rise for about an hour or until doubled in size. Brush with melted butter and bake for 15 - 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Brush with more butter right out of oven if desired.
