  2. Use 1 cup Rice
  3. Use 1 1/2 cup sugar

  6. Provide Pinch of.lemon yellow colour
  7. Take 8-10 chopped nuts
  8. Prepare 1 tsp elachi powder

  11. Provide 1 1/2 cup sugar
  12. Get 1 tbsp ghee
  13. Provide 3 cups water
  14. Get 1/2 tsp cardamon powder
  15. Provide 1 tsp chopped nuts

  17. Take 1/4 cup chana dal
  18. Get 1 cup tuvar dal
  19. Get 1 cup mung dal
  20. Use 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  21. Prepare Pinch hing
  22. Get 3-4 chillies
  23. Provide 2 sprigs curry pata
  24. Prepare 1 " inch piece ginger
  25. Take 1/2 tsp ghee

  29. Get 3-4 dried kari pieces (Amboli)

Steps to make Meethe chawal,Teen dal Curry,Wheat flour Sheera:
  1. For Tari(Sweet Saffron Rice)
  2. Boil the Rice in a vessel.Do. Do not add salt.
  3. Drain the Rice when done.Don't not over cook the rice.cook till it is nearly done.
  4. Transfer the rice from the vessel to a pan.Add sugar, saffron n yellow colour.
  5. Place a tawa under the pan and let the rice cook on a medium flame.
  6. Stir occasionally very lightly so that the rice grain does not break
  7. When the sugar caramelizes the rice will begin turning golden yellow in colour.
  8. Cook till the entire sugar is absorbed by the rice.
  9. When sugar is absorbed add elachi powder n nuts.
  10. Over it add piping hot melted ghee to the Tari.
  11. Serve Piping hot garnished with chopped nuts.
  12. Tari is made during festivals served with Teedali Poth (Teen dal curry)
  13. Teen dal Curry
  14. Soak all the dals in water for 2-3 hours prior to the cooking.
  15. Wash it a couple of times, add little water in cooker, add green chillies n turmeric powder n cook on a medium flame.
  16. Remove the white coloured residue which comes above the dal n close the cooker. Do 3 whistles.Off the gas.
  17. Open the lid.when the dals r tender keep the cooker on the slow flame.When n simmer for 5 minutes.
  18. Now mash the dals with a blender without making them into a puree.
  19. Add 2 cups of water, bring the dal to a boil.
  20. When it starts boiling add ginger chopped, curry leaves n phudina leaves.Mix it well.
  21. Add salt n Khattai. U can also use fresh ka children kari for Khattai in the season.
  22. Reduce the heat n boil the dal for about 15 minutes.
  23. In a separate vessel heat Ghee add jeera and hing n add tempered jeera to the dal.
  24. Garnish with finely chopped Coriander leaves.
  25. Serve Piping hot with Meethe Chawal or Steamed Rice.
  26. For the Wheat flour Sheera
  27. In a deep pan,heat Ghee on a medium flame. When ghee melts add wheat flour.
  28. Roast the Wheat flour continuously to it turns light isherwood brown in colour.
  29. Add 3 cups of water to the flour.Mix.
  30. Add sugar and Cardamom powder.Keep stirring the mixture till the sugar caramelizes n the consistency is thick.
  31. Garnish with chopped nuts n serve Piping hot on lunch or dinner with Papad.
  32. Serve Meethe Chawal,Teen dal Curry with Batata bhaji n Puri n Sheera accompanied with Alu tuk.
