Almost every single “get healthy” and “weight loss” posting you study will tell you to skip the drive through and make all of your meals yourself. There’s some worth to this. Sometimes, though, the last thing you want is to have to cook meals from scratch. Once in a while you only want to pay a visit to the drive through when you are on your way home and complete the day. There is no reason that you shouldn’t be able to do that once in a while and be free of the guilt usually associated with “diet slips”. You can do this because most of the popular joints are now advertising “healthy” menu selections to keep their businesses up. Here is the way to eat healthy when you reach the drive through.
Select a drive through for a restaurant that’s known for catering to people with healthier palates. Arby’s for example, isn’t going to serve burgers. You may eat roast beef sandwiches, wraps and salads as an alternative. Wendy’s, not surprisingly, is known for its square burgers, nevertheless the menu there has a bundle of healthy choices like salad, potatoes and chili. Not all fast food spots are as unhealthy as McDonalds with its deep fried everything.
Traditional logic tells us that one positive way to get healthy and lose weight is to drop the drive through and to remove fast food restaurants from your thoughts. Most of the time this is a good concept but if you make great choices, there is no reason you can’t visit your drive through now and then. At times what you need most is just to have another person do the cooking. If you choose healthy products, the remorse usually associated with hitting the drive through shouldn’t be so bad.
